Price: $2.99 * Buy At: Walgreens * Size: 0.054 oz / 1.54 g The Jordana Fabuliner in Black is a felt tip style liquid liner with a long, thin tip. It has a plastic lid that snaps on quite securely, so you won't need to worry about it leaking in a bag or wherever you put it. The Jordana Fabuliner applies very smoothly and evenly. As you can see in the swatches, it makes an opaque line without any empty patches. The formula isn't watery and doesn't bleed when you apply it. The Fabuliner is smudge and water resistant, making it a great choice for lining the top lid. With the size and shape of the tip, you can create a small line using the tip, or a thicker line using the side. The Fabuliner is a great pen liquid liner, and you can't go wrong with the inexpensive price! XOX ♥

Price: $4.99 * Buy At: Target * Size: 0.08 fl oz / 2.5 ml The Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black is a typical black liquid liner in the typical "cone" shaped packaging with a stiff, pointed applicator. The applicator of the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner is quite stiff and does not bend whatsoever during application. The pigmentation of this liner is not great. The line you get is uneven, being pitch black in some places and has patches in others, looking almost watery (even if you shake it prior to opening), as you can see in the swatch photos. This requires going back over the line again, or the assistance of a black powder shadow over the line. Due to the patchiness in the liner, you cannot wipe off the applicator at all, or you will get a sheer or even patchier black line. I find this to be frustrating and makes application take longer than other liquid liners. Overall, it is an okay liquid liner, but I will not be repurchasing this one. XOX ♥
Price: $1.99 * Buy At: Walgreens * Size: 0.054 oz / 1.54 g The Jordana Fabuliner in brown is a very dark brown pen liquid liner, that ends up looking almost black. The lid snaps on very securely, which gives me the impression that this liner will not be one that is quick to dry out or leak. I am really impressed with this eyeliner! It lasted on my lids all day without fading or smudging and also did not stain my lids like some other cheap pen liners tend to do. The shape of the liner also allows for multiple different liner thicknesses. With less pressure and only using the tip, you can get a thin and subtle line. Using the side of the tip and a little more pressure you will get a line with medium thickness and if you use the side of the liner and medium pressure you get a thick line. I also like that the applicator is not too firm or stiff, but also is not flimsy. It applies very evenly and does not leave any patches where it is streaky or not evenly opaque. The Fabuliner dries to a natural matte finish. XOX ♥
I feel that eyeliner is the most daunting product to pick out and use for people just starting out with makeup. Everyone has an eyeliner type that is the best for them, there are 5 main kinds of eyeliner; Gel, Pencil, Pen/Felt Tip, Liquid & Powder Eye Shadow. (Keep in mind that all the products I show have been used and loved for months, so they are not in their best condition) Gel EyelinerIf an angled eyeliner brush is your preferred style of eyeliner application and you are looking for a crisp, clean line, than gel eyeliner may be right for you. I typically wouldn't advise gel liner for beginners, because it takes practice, but some people are good with this type right away. I would also stay away from gel liner if you don't have a lot of time to do your makeup, as this style of liner tends to take longer to do. Gel eyeliner comes in a small pot with a lid and comes in a variety of color, but darker colors are more common and easily accessible. Pencil EyelinerEven if you decide that a pencil liner isn't the best choice for you for the lid, I think a pencil liner is a must for lining the waterline and if you want, the tightline. Typically, pencil liner creates a softer line than liquid or pen and can look more natural. I like a pencil liner that is soft, so it doesn't hurt your lids, but not too soft where you are constantly sharpening it. I think the Rimmel Scandaleyes liner is a nice halfway between the two extremes. It is a pretty soft liner, but you don't need to sharpen it all the time. Pen/Felt Tip EyelinerI think that the Pen/Felt Tip Eyeliner is a great style of eyeliner for beginners. It allows the precision of a pencil eyeliner without dragging or pulling on your eyelid. I also find that it can be easier than liquid liner. The only downside of these for me, is that these liners dry up faster than liquid and the tip of the liner also dries out quickly. Liquid EyelinerLiquid Eyeliner is intimidating to a lot of people, but it is my go-to style for a simple line on my lid. I like liquid liner because it doesn't pull on your lid at all and creates a crisp line. This style is easy for some and difficult for others, so I would pick up a cheap one (like the NYC Liquid Eyeliner) to play around with to see if liquid liner is the right thing for you. Powder EyeshadowLast is the most simple liner style, that I feel is the easiest for beginners. Plus, if you have the desired liner shade you want in a powder eye shadow, then you don't even need to buy an eyeliner! I like to use powder eye shadow for lining my eyes because it gives a much softer, natural look even when you use very dark colors. I also find that it is the most foolproof method since powder is the easiest to rub off out of the 5 styles I have talked about. All I do is take an angled liner brush (or any liner brush style that you like) press it into the shadow and make my line the desired thickness using short strokes. My favorite shadow to use as eyeliner is Blackout (Naked 2) or Crave (Naked Basics) by Urban Decay because it is a very black color and applies effortlessly!
XOX ♥ Price: $12 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 0.082 fl oz The Sephora Color Proof Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Matte Brown is a very dark brown with a matte finish. Oddly enough, when looking at the "brush" of this liner, it appears that there is glitter in this liner, but when swatched or applied on the lids, there is no visible glitter or sparkle. It is waterproof to a point and when it comes off, the liner flakes off. Some may think that this is a bad thing, but, I would much prefer for my liner to cleanly flake off than run down my face if it gets wet. I really like this eyeliner. It applies very smooth and evenly and you do not need to keep dunking the brush in the product to finish the line. The brush is stiff which allows an easy, clean line, but it is not too stiff to a point that it could hurt your eyelid. This liner wore all day on me with no primer. XOX
Product Information Price: $3 Buy At: Ulta Size: Shades Available: 1 (Black) On Ulta's Website: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2249377&productId=xlsImpprod4540075&navAction=push&navCount=1 On Essence's Website: http://www.essence.eu/us/products/eyes/eyeliner.html Essence's Claim: "This eyeliner pen has a specialized Japanese felt tip to ensure an absolutely precise line. smudge-proof and extra long lasting. ideal for on-the-go. available in black." I've been wanting to get a felt tip liner for a while now, and Essence's is the cheapest I have found. Essence also has another liner pen that isn't super fine, but, I decided to go with the super fine version so I could get however thick or thin line I wanted. Right off the bat, I noticed that you could use the very tip. My first felt liner that I got over a year ago from Sephora had a tip that was too dry to line with. So, I was very happy with this. As for the color, it isn't as black as it could be, but it is fairly black. But, if you get any water on it, the top layer turns purple and slides off with the water and leaves you with a medium purple-ish grey remain. This is odd, but, I didn't notice it running or turning purple at all when it was on my eyes. I wore this on my top lid for an all day volleyball tournament and even with a sweaty face, the liner didn't come off. It is also easy to apply. So far I haven't noticed it making the line darker or more pigmented in one place and the color and amount of liner is even.
